After my abject failure in songwriting last month, which unfortunately only happened after I wrote lyrics to a chorus which I had to reimagine after I forgot the initial one, and the chorus was a terrible one, but the lyrics were great so I refused to write a new one.

Here goes my second attempt.

Incidentally, my first attempt at songwriting since I semi picked up poetry.

I found it a lot easier.

Love is the stars,
bringing light to the sky above
glowing so brightly
as they burn to dust

Hope is a comet
Searching for piece as she falls to earth
falling to pieces
a broken shooting star (I'm a little unsure of this line)

It's a little bit too hard to fix this now,
So I'm gonna leave, for a while or more
It's a little bit too wrong to make this right,
So I'll say goodbye, and I'll say goodnight
For now.

It's not too late,
It's not too late for us to try
to find a way back
to where we used to be
It's not too late
too late to give without a fight
