RS stands for Rafflesian Spotlight, the rather grandiose name for an annual talent competition for RI... Anyway it is a talent competition and any talent can be used to participate in RS. like stand-up comedy but also more conventional stuff like playing in a band, singing or dancing though i havent really seen the last one yet. Speaking about what ive seen for RS ive only watched it like once which was last year. Um frankly no offence to all the people who participated but everyone sucked except for the band that won (excluding their singer who sucked) and some stand-up comedy. Yeah yeah maybe my standards are too high or what...anyway I who think i have some form of musical talent at least have decided to form a band and go for it, with winning being our objective. Laugh all you want people, I know there were some really talented folks out there last year who didnt win but its not because the competition was too stiff really, it was really because of a general lack of practice and coordination ( yes anty i am talking about your band). I think generally if i and my band members took it seriously enough we could actually win. Unfortunately i've got a minor problem. I'm still lacking one band member. Er...yeah i need an electric guitarist. Apparently good guitarists are rare and electric guitarists are rarer still because of some pedal thingy that i dont quite understand despite me going to wikipedia to check it out and asking a few people about it, all i understood was that it is hard to operate and i got nothing fromwikipedia. As most of you should know electric guitarists are essentially needed to form a band, even a pop one so plans have stalled for now :(
But anyway i still have managed to recruit the rest of the band and hopefully ill find an electric guitarist soon :p
Sadly Ian being Ian did not manage to recruit the best people in the level as the best were mostly too cool do be my friends.. and also because i only asked my friends. But at least i managed to recruit competent people...hmmm should i post their names up here? nah id better get their permission first but ill just put up some list of what instrument each band member can play.

Me: Vocals, guitar(very very basic..in fact it shouldnt be here except for the fact that i have to play it for one song whether or not i get a guitarist) and piano(i probably wont touch this during RS)

originally i was planning to go with jlee but then now hes having doubts about it and is being noncommital and all :( so dunno ill go without him if i have to though id prefer it if hed go with me esp since we wont be able to do rock songs without him. Anyway 1 electric guitarist and the band will be ready to go with or without jlee..
btw RS is in like um 9 months so i know its crazy to start preparing so early but hey you can never be too paranoid. i guess. Come and support me if you can or if you can bring yourself too or if you really have nothing to do on that day and have too much cash or even if you just want to laugh at me, fine dont come if you just want to laugh at me. It would also help to like pinpoint any moderately good electric guitarist that is in RI.. anyway RGS ppl if you are reading this tickets to RS will be sold in RGS as well, at least they were last year. ..
