I need to learn how to write better lyrics dammit. Its like writing poetry I guess, but Im aiming more for structured prose. Which is what most great songwriters can do with ease.
Just cause I can't resist take a look at Taylor Swifts songs; they cant be described as poetry most of them, but more like narratives, yet they fit the line structure perfectly almost all the time. And they are awesome narratives.

The bus braked. And the doors opened, letting in a stream of people. Tired, dejected, lonely, people. He stared into the midst of them, watching silently as they all passed him, filling up all the other seats on the bus, every single one of them an unavoidable dent to his ego.

He sighed as the stream of people ended, with him still alone in his seat. He slumped himself against the glass and looked. He wondered how the hell he had gotten into this mess.

We got an incredibly hard poem for unseen poetry essay during lit today. Everyone was silently or not so silently screaming and thinking frantically. Yeah it was ungraded but the sheer level of difficulty scared us all. Even me, though I draw in lit. And so a good 10 minutes into the lesson I heard my friend next to me say: "Holy shit this is so cheem"
"Thats what Ive been saying all this while, and you're only admitting it now?"
"What? Huh? I was talking about my own answer."

And so I felt like slapping him. And I did. NOT.

I am currently going nuts.
Because a song is evading me.
That is something. You're talking to a guy who searched half an hour to locate a song, to find out it was by a local singer. And another hour to get it. This is a song thats been haunting me for months. I think its been a year judging from what i just found.

The song was in an ad on tv. I thought it was a canon ad but I haven't been able to locate it. It invovles a camera, or maybe a camera phone. It was played around last year on mediacorp channels. Yes I watch them.
The only lyrics I could hear that I was sure of were : "One, two, three four, won't you stay a little more." in what was definitely the chorus.
I got other lines of "theres something that I've been missing" or something like that. Though I can't really be sure of those lines. It was a female singer. And I have been wanting that song since I heard it. A mad search of google, yahoo answers has turned out nothing. I gave up after a week. Most of my queries being returned with Feists' 1,2,3,4. Nice song but not what I was looking for.

Aah I was in Malaysia again this morning. And I was unfortunately tasked by my father to buy lunch for everyone while he drove his car around.
Yeah Im Malaysian officially, but it sure as hell don't make me one of them. The nine years of my life that I lived there I hardly stepped out of my house. Malaysian shopping malls? Been there with my parents. Only for dinner etc. Er.. yeah my childhood was very "sheltered". Plus, Im also Singaporean.
Anyway, my father has said before that Malaysians can spot Singaporeans instantly. Its freaking true. We might not be able to spot one of them among us, but thats just cause we're too busy pointing at that Indian worker or one of those "chinamen" to bother noticing the subtle aliens among us. Also if you kept freaking out at foreigners in Singapore you can't live a life. You don't get as many tourists in Malaysia so you do tend to notice when Singaporeans appear.
Its our general appearance. Our mannerisms. Also our loud english. Oh yeah, and fair skin. Ok maybe not, the point is they can tell. Of course, when people notice you're different, they tend to stare, so naturally I was not relishing stepping into a Malaysian coffee shop.
Luckily, I tried to blend in, and due to a combination of a hunched back, a bad t-shirt that looked like it came from a bazaar and a messy appearance, I blended in.
Unfortunately I had to order.
You might have noticed our cousins over the causeway don't speak english as well as us. Thats not cause they're stupid. But because they don't use it that much. They speak a combination of Malay Chinese and random chinese dialects. None of which I can speak well.
I kinda forgot this. So when I went to order chicken from the Malay chicken lady, I was like:
(Softly)" ercouldIgethalfachickenandfourpacketsofrice"
Lady: *******************(sounds like dialect)
Me: Huuuuuuuuh?
Lady: ******************
Me: *Nods slowly as if finally comprehending*
Yep Malay lady was speaking some chinese dialect to me.
Then while I was waiting for the order a chinese worker at the stall walked by and asked me something that was definitely not dialect and not chinese. I huhed him again and nodded. Thankfully it didn't result in anything bad. I did that a few more times in response to anyone who asked me anything.
I was surviving by acting like a complete twit. And also because of pure dumb luck.
Trust me, it would have been bad if they had all stared at me if they realized I was Singaporean. It would have been even worse if they thought I was a Malaysian who couldn't speak Malay or Chinese.

I just realized Ive been posting my blog posts onto google buzz due to a stupid mistake I did while setting up buzz. Which happened to be linking my blog to the buzz account. I registered for DMP :P. An initiative from our school, to give us a few weeks of time to learn whatever we want. Its quite fun, except for the fact that the EOYs are like 2 weeks after dmp. Gah.
I tried to register for a drama course but apparently it was full.

And maybe I shouldnt have loaded up on history modules. My brain is going to explode.

I have two brothers.

What annoys me most is the way my youngest brother tries to boss everyone around. Feels that its his right. Gets away with it. And he succeeds with my other brother.

For simplicity sake, I shall refer to them as 2nd brother and youngest brother.
Okay... For example 2nd brother would be lounging around, reading as usual and youngest brother would be lying on a bed. Usually 2nd brother's bed. Then Youngest brother will feel thirsty. Youngest brother proceeds to command 2nd brother to get him a glass of water. He will also scold 2nd brother if he argues. I witnessed an occasion where 2nd brother asked youngest brother to get him a glass of water. It was not a pretty sight.

This has been annoying me for years.
